2026 Ontario Summer Games


Waterloo Region | July 30 – August 2, 2026

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF), in partnership with Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) and Hockey Northwestern Ontario (HNO), is proud to support the Team Ontario Men’s Hockey program at the 2026 Ontario Summer Games.

Held in Waterloo Region from July 30 – August 2, 2026, the Ontario Summer Games represent the first official evaluation stage for athletes pursuing an opportunity to represent Team Ontario at the 2027 Canada Winter Games in Quebec City.

The event brings together 120 of Ontario’s top U15 hockey players, providing athletes with the opportunity to compete alongside the province’s best while being evaluated by Team Ontario program staff.

About the Ontario Summer Games

The Ontario Summer Games are one of the province’s premier multi-sport events, showcasing Ontario’s top young athletes across a variety of sports.

For hockey, the Games serve as the first stage of the Team Ontario selection process for the Canada Winter Games, allowing players to demonstrate their skills in a high-performance environment against elite competition.

The evaluations conducted throughout the Ontario Summer Games help identify athletes who will continue through the Team Ontario pathway leading into the 2027 Canada Winter Games.

Team Ontario Pathway

The Ontario Summer Games are the first major step toward earning a place on Team Ontario.

The evaluation process includes:

  • Ontario Summer Games
  • Continued player evaluations throughout the 2026-27 season
  • Team Ontario Selection Camp
  • Final Team Ontario roster for the 2027 Canada Winter Games

Selection to the Ontario Summer Games does not guarantee selection to Team Ontario, but it provides athletes with the opportunity to continue advancing through the identification process.

Looking Ahead

Following the Ontario Summer Games, athletes will continue to be evaluated throughout the 2026-27 season as Team Ontario prepares for the 2027 Canada Winter Games in Quebec City.

The Canada Winter Games are held every four years and feature the country’s top under-16 players representing each province and territory in Canada’s premier multi-sport event for developing athletes.
