Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund

The Hockey Canada Foundation has committed $1 million for its Assist Fund during the 2024-25 hockey season, which will be distributed as registration-fee subsidies for young Canadians playing hockey and facing financial barriers.

The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund is back and eager to help Canadian families experience the power of play by offering up to $500 in registration subsidies for players (including those already registered) who qualify for funding.

The application process for the Assist Fund is now open and can be found here.

Applications Open: August 1, 2024

Applications Close: October 15, 2024 or until the $1 Million cap has been reached

In the 2023/24 season alone the Assist Fund:

  • received more than 4,000 applications
  • provided funding to 3,306 families
  • provided funding to 1,225 Black, Indigenous and racialized communities

Since it launched in 2020, the Assist Fund has helped nearly 10,000 Canadian children from diverse backgrounds to participate in competitive and non-competitive hockey, including over 3,000 who identify with Black, Indigenous or racialized communities.

To enhance the impact of the Assist Fund, 100 per cent of all donated funds from Canadians will go towards applicants of the program. Donations can be made at AssistFund.HockeyCanadaFoundation.ca.
