Canada’s National Para Hockey Team Wins Gold at the World Para Hockey Championship

Canada dominated Group B in the preliminary round, securing a flawless 3-0 record by defeating Japan (19-0), Italy (10-0), and Czechia (5-1). Their stellar performance continued into the semifinals, where they clinched a spot in the gold medal match with a narrow 2-1 victory over China.
With an illustrious history at the World Para Hockey Championship, Canada boasts an impressive medal tally. They've claimed the top spot five times, earning gold in 2000, 2008, 2013, 2017, and most recently in 2024. Additionally, they've secured four silver medals (2015, 2019, 2021, 2023) and three bronze (1996, 2009, 2012) over their 13 appearances in the tournament.
