For the third year in a row, Canada’s National Para Hockey Team won silver at the 2024 International Para Hockey Cup, after a hard-fought 5-3 loss to the United States in Sunday’s gold medal game at Ostravar Arena.

In the final, Canada’s goals came from Dominic Cozzolino (Mississauga, ON), James Dunn (Wallacetown, ON), and Auren Halbert (Calgary, AB). Goaltender Adam Kingsmill (Smithers, BC) made 22 saves, while Dunn’s performance, highlighted by a third-period goal, earned him player of the game honors for Canada.

Canada finished the preliminary round 2-1, starting with a win against Italy, then dropping a game to the U.S., and closing with a victory over Czechia. In the semifinals, Canada earned its place in the gold medal game with a thrilling 1-0 overtime win over Czechia on Saturday.

Looking ahead, Canada’s National Para Hockey Team will now prepare for the 2024 Para Hockey Cup, set for December 8-14 in Charlottetown, PEI. Full-event ticket packages are on sale now.
