2024-25 OHF Board of Directors Announced

Welcoming New Directors:

Adam Yahn is a seasoned public affairs and government relations professional with extensive experience in junior and minor hockey. He has excelled in roles such as Vice-President and Partner at Summa Strategies and Head of Government Relations at the Ontario Real Estate Association. Recognized for his crisis communications, leadership, and project management skills, Adam is a driven self-starter with a proven track record in team building and achieving results. His volunteer work includes coaching and management roles in hockey, showcasing his dedication to the sport. We are confident that Adam’s expertise and exceptional skills will greatly benefit the OHF. Adam will serve a three (3) year term as Director.

Bob Hill is a proven leader in operational risk management and customer communication, with a track record of enhancing community safety at Hamilton Police Service. His expertise in strategic contingency planning, conducting thorough investigations, and establishing robust risk mitigation frameworks has driven significant improvements in organizational performance. Bob's analytical expertise, effective team collaboration, and ability to handle multiple projects with accuracy make him a valuable addition. Beyond his professional achievements, Bob has been actively involved in the community, serving as President of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association and coaching minor hockey and baseball teams for over 2 decades. We look forward to the contributions he will bring to the OHF. Bob will serve a two (2) year term as Director.

John Kastner: Chair of the Board of Directors

John Kastner was the GM of the Stratford Perth Museum and has previously worked as Managing Editor of the Stratford Beacon Herald newspaper. John is a former hockey and baseball coach and has served as President of the Stratford Rotary Minor Hockey as well as on the Ontario Hockey Association board. He has been honoured in his community as the Sportsperson of the Year and Businessperson of the Year in Stratford. John has served on the OHF Board since 2014. John will serve a three (3) year term as the Chair to the Board of Directors.

Returning Directors

Cheryl Smith and Jeff Turner were also re-elected for two (2) and three (3) year terms respectively.

Departing Directors

Outgoing Board Directors, Gayle Payette and Stacy McLean were thanked for their contributions to the OHF over their terms!

Secretary Treasurer: Bruce Schlitt

Returning for a two (2) year term, Bruce Schlitt is a Chartered Professional Accountant with extensive experience in financial management. He currently serves as the Financial Controller at Shred-Tech. In addition to his professional expertise, Bruce has contributed to the sports community as a previous board member of the Ontario Hockey Association and has hands-on experience in coaching Junior and Minor hockey.
