In Memory - Ken Miller

The Ontario Hockey Federation is mourning the loss of Ken Miller. He was the organization's Referee-in-Chief from 1988-1996.
Ken Miller joined the OHL as an on-ice referee in 1982-83, refereeing for the next 8 seasons. He then joined the OHL’s supervisory staff (now known as the Officiating Manager) the following season (1990-91) and was active for a total of 33 years. In 2010, Ken was appointed as the OHL Director of Security.
Further to his experience, Ken was inducted into the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame in 1994 and was also awarded the Judge Harry J Reynolds Memorial Trophy in 1986 for Dedication to the Sport of hockey as a player, coach, executive, official. He also received the Hockey Canada Officiating Award in 2007 for Outstanding Contribution to Officiating.
Ken was a distinguished OPP Officer and retired in 2007 after climbing the ranks to Chief Superintendent in May 2006, assuming assumed responsibility for the command of the North East Region.
