OHF BULLETIN: Vaccination Mandate for Remainder of 2021-22 Season
Date: Mar, 03, 2022 12:00 PM EDT
The Ontario Hockey Federation currently has in place a vaccination mandate for participants that are 12 years of age and older which is in alignment with the Ontario Government’s vaccination requirement for sports facilities. This mandate ended on March 1, 2022. Despite this, the OHF will be maintaining its vaccination policy for the duration of the 2021-2022 season. Given the Hockey Canada and OHF Regulations; the position of the OHF is as follows:
The Ontario Hockey Federation’s requirement of vaccination for participants 12 years of age and older and for those born in 2010 that are 12 years and 12 weeks old will continue to be implemented for the 2021-2022 season. Regardless of the direction of the Ontario Government on March 1, 2022, Hockey Canada and OHF Regulations restrict the registration of players after February 10 of the current season. As such, any program that would compete up to April 24, 2022, would not be eligible to add a player in accordance with the regulations.
The OHF in consultation with its Members will be providing direction regarding vaccination mandates for the 2022-2023 season by April 14, 2022.
