HOST COMMUNITY
Home to over 422,000 people, London is the 6th largest city in Ontario and the 4th fastest growing city in Canada. Located two hours from Detroit and Toronto, London is considered the heart of Southwestern Ontario and easily accessible via highway, rail and the London International Airport. Known as “the Forest City”, London has also developed a reputation for sports due to the success of its local teams including the London Knights, London Lightning, London Majors and both Western University and Fanshawe College Athletics. In addition to this sporting reputation, London is also a strong business community being home to a number of Canada's strongest corporations including 3M, General Dynamics, GoodLife Fitness and Labatt Brewing Company.
The Greater London Hockey Association (GLHA) is made up of 4 member associations; London Bandits, North London Nationals, Oakridge Aeros and West London Hawks. A partnership between the GLHA and Western Hockey in 2014 created the GLHA Junior Mustangs Hockey Program for the GLHA's 15 competitive u10 to u18 teams playing in the Seeded (AA/A) level of the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario. Our 15 Junior Mustangs teams proudly wear Western’s licenced uniforms and make up more than 250 of the more than 3,500 players who play in the GLHA. The London Jr Mustangs field a Purple and White team per age group, players are split based on existing member association boundaries. Together, GLHA has produced numerous Alliance Champions, including an OHF U18A Champion in 2018.
